Summary:

 

The Field Service and Quality Technician is responsible for startup and commissioning, resolving technical issues, and inspecting product quality. This role inspects Air Pollution Control Equipment in the field and at fabricators, ensuring that product inspections and quality control procedures are carried through as defined in the product specs. This role ensures customer and end-users’ required standards are met.

Experience in Air Pollution Control Equipment or related equipment, control systems, and field start-up/commissioning is preferred.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Be:

 

  • Supervises equipment installations and completes start-up and commissioning on all makes of Industrial Air Pollution Control Equipment.
  • Works closely with applications and engineering personnel on activities concerned with installing equipment, investigates and resolves customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and performs preventative maintenance.
  • Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and coworkers.
  • Install new or modified equipment at the customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
  • Reviews performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives and inspects malfunctioning or damaged products to determine the nature and scope of the problem.
  • Analyzes and reviews inspection findings to determine the source of the problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
  • Comprehends wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
  • Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
  • Provides on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Maintains records of performance reports by completing work orders for each job, maintenance checklists, and daily time sheets.
  • Conducts quality inspections at fabrication sites to ensure all quality steps are followed lessening the chance of quality defects in the field
  • Increases CECO awareness of how CECO products and service offerings can benefit their operations.
  • Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
  • Travels frequently to customer sites; occasional overtime and sporadic on-call emergency service is required to meet customer needs.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Air Pollution Control Equipment Service experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of communicating and training plant associates to achieve the required knowledge transfer of equipment operations and safety features.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Associate Degree is preferred
  • Experience in Air Pollution Control Equipment or related equipment, control systems and field start-up/commissioning are preferred.
  • Knowledge of thermal and catalytic oxidation solutions for abatement of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), gaseous air toxic fumes, and odors from chemical, hydrocarbon, and acid gas process streams is preferred.

 

  

ADA Requirements:  

Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.  

  • Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods. 
  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job.  Visits to our manufacturing facility and suppliers’ facilities is required to monitor active projects and address design issues.
