The Facilities and Safety Lead is in charge of performing ongoing preventative facility maintenance, completing repairs on equipment. Duties include fixing machinery, plumbing, heating and wiring, inspecting building to confirm safety standards, scheduling preventative maintenance and major repairs with outside contractors. The role also owns all elements of the company’s Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) programs and is the primary point of EHSS responsibility for the site operation.  

 

 

Your Responsibilities Will Be:  

  • Maintains site maintenance documentation, budget, tracking software and communicates status, plans and costs to site leadership  

  • Performs routine general maintenance and repairs around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair and piping, electrical, air fittings, water and plumbing operations. 

  • Maintains the HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly. 

  • Ensures the facility housekeeping is maintained to appropriately hygienic standards directing either inside resources or contract support. 

  • Fixes potential safety hazards to avoid injuries. 

  • Paints the interior of the building when old paint has become faded or chipped. 

  • Competently uses all hand tools, power tools, light machinery and equipment. 

  • Is familiar with facility and safety equipment inspections conducted both independently as well as in conjunction with outside contractors/vendors. 

  • Schedules and conducts preventative maintenance on production equipment. 

  • Serves as site safety representative and implements and maintains site EHSS procedures and interfaces with site leaders regarding regulatory compliance as well as ensuring safety improvements are properly implemented and trained to.  

  • Maintains all permits and associated documentation. 

  • Provides and documents training registers for regular mandatory OSHA compliance, site safety committee and emergency response teams, new hire safety orientation and other site-specific hazard awareness training. 

  • Conducts safety incident investigations. 

  • Maintains safety metrics and site inspection documentation (fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, PPE, emergency evacuation plan, fire back-flush, local fire department, eye wash stations, slings, chains, electrical thermal image, etc.) 

  • Files annual OSHA Logs 

  • Maintains the access control of the facility including all codes and keys. 

  • Exercises independent judgement with limited supervision. 

  • Environment is active with ambient noise occasionally above 85 dBA 

 

   

Required Qualifications:  

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.    

  • 5+ years directly applicable experience required. 

  • Broad knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Standards, EPA, DOT, NFPA. 

  • Industrial equipment manufacturing experience required such as: pumps, motors, valves, raw materials, actuators, welding, machining, painting and fabrication. 

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch and use hand and lift and/pr move 10 lbs. and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally

Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.   

  • Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.  

  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job.  Visits to our manufacturing facility and suppliers’ facilities is required to monitor active projects and address design issues.  

  • Compliance with company attendance standards.
