Summary:

 

The Sales Director must be highly motivated, and results driven. The responsibilities of the sales director include hiring, training, and overseeing our sales associates, and driving business growth of our Capital Equipment filtration & separation portfolio in petroleum refineries, gas processing plants, chemical manufacturing sites, renewable energy and other process environments. A successful sales director is a creative independent thinker with excellent leadership, observational, and analytical skills. Ultimately, a top-notch sales director is goal-oriented, technically capable, has a strong working knowledge of consultative selling in our target markets, and has proven sales leadership experience, meeting or exceeding targets.

 

 

Your Responsibilities Will Be:

 

  • Determine and achieve annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing sales and marketing strategies
  • Analyze sales trends and results to develop and achieve quarterly and annual bookings forecasts
  • Establish and achieve sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions, territories or personnel
  • Hiring, training, and motivating sales representatives
  • Making determinations for equipment, staff and training needs of the sales team
  • Traveling to customer sites, supporting and evaluating Sales Associates
  • Generating reports that highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each Sales Associate and creating development plans for the team members
  • Providing training programs to sales representatives to ensure they can perform their duties effectively
  • Collaborating with sales and operations teams to execute projects with a customer focused philosophy
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction by improving responsiveness and anticipation of customer needs
  • Manage, develop, coach, and motivate the sales force to develop their skills to ensure that a high professional standard is achieved and monthly sales target and KPI target are established and met
  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the sales team and manage the sales program accordingly
  • Provide on-the-ground support for sales associates as they generate leads and close new deals
  • Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of our company's relationship with them
  • Identify emerging markets and opportunities for expansion.  Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development staff to assess and penetrate these markets
  • Develop successful and ongoing relationships with customers and clients

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in consultative selling and managing a team of sales professionals who do the same
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services and present a compelling value proposition
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors
  • Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated solutions
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience in the relevant industries (petroleum refining, gas processing, chemicals)
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and leadership skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and independent thinking
  • Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems
  • This position may require travel up 50% of the time.
  • International travel may be required.

Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.  

  • Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods. 
  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job.  Visits to our manufacturing facility and suppliers’ facilities is required to monitor active projects and address design issues.
