The Procurement Manager oversees and develops our network of suppliers to assure the effective purchase of raw materials, products and third-party fabrication to meet the needs of our business.  This includes assuring tools & data are in place and kept current to support the cost estimation process. This position must collaborate effectively and in real-time with teammates in Sales, Finance, Engineering and Project Management to continually assess and develop suppliers to maximize business effectiveness.

 

 

 Your Responsibilities will be

  • Refine and maintain our network of suppliers (pressure vessel components, subcontracted fabrication of pressure vessels, piping assemblies, structural steel skids, instruments/controls, valves/accessories, sheet metal, flanges, painting services, etc.) to support business needs.
  • Maintain the supply chain database to assure available qualified support is in place to meet business needs & partner to deliver cost savings.  Identify supply chain risks & implement mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a system to retrieve and report cost history & projections of essential commodities, products, and services on a regular basis to enable efficient understanding and facilitate decision processes. 
  • Develop, implement, and monitor, cost savings initiatives by leading and supporting project teams.
  • Issue purchase orders, negotiate PO terms and provide oversight to other Procurement staff that issue purchase orders.
  • Review supplier PO completion to assure compliance with CECO commitments to customers and suppliers.
  • Support sales proposal process by developing & maintaining cost estimation tools to streamline the bid process, providing support for bid packages.
  • Support CECO Project Managers by ensuring timely material delivery to support project schedules; approve vendor payments & reconcile change orders with suppliers.
  • Verify & establish inventory levels to align to business needs to ensure availability of materials and parts for production.
  • Work with Quality staff to manage ongoing qualification of suppliers.
  • Analyze markets and suppliers to assess present & future material availability and cost trends.
  • Resolve supplier grievances and claims against suppliers in accordance with CECO values.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

 

 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PICS ASCM / CPIM / CSCP and LEAN training / Green Belt certification – preferred
  • Prior experience in oil & gas or energy-related product manufacturing procurement is preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Suite - ERP systems (Epicor and/or D365 is preferred).

 

 

 

Travel Requirements (Requirement):

Limited travel is required, typically, within USA. Incumbents are expected to travel <20% of the time; may need to travel within North America.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some work with physical computer and/or networking systems may be required to fulfill operational requirements.
