The Field Service Manager will be responsible for managing customer field service projects related to the installation and commissioning, coordinating, directing and problem solving of field service activities post-delivery of goods including but not limited to site construction support, commissioning, warranty management; working with Sales for job Site walks and bid support for aftermarket turnkey solutions, contractor management, developing and implementing policies, and procedures for CECO Emissions Controls which are focused on removal of NOx and CO Emissions, combustion Burners ammonia handling, etc. The ideal candidate has solid experience with mechanical, thermal, construction, Instrumentation, automation, ammonia handling, startups, commissioning processes, management of contractual obligations, along with building and leading a field service team that is remote based across the United States. Candidate shall be an Excellent communicator, with a strong sense of urgency, attention to details and leader across cross-functional and multi-cultural teams.

The Field Service Manager is also responsible for driving field service productivity, for coordinating field service technicians, monitoring and resolving issues, and managing the service P&L.

 

 

Your Responsibilities Will Be: 

  • Plans and develop policies and procedures for on-site installation, equipment start-up/commissioning, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensures all field service projects are completed within budget/deadline to meet customers' needs
  • Manages all field service management software and tools; trains Field Service technicians on the use of these tools to drive field service efficiency and effectiveness
  • Schedules, plans, directs mechanical and electrical inspections so as to ensure Company provided equipment meets the required design specifications; coordinates engineering changes as necessary to correct non-conforming issues.
  • Manage the field activities as it relates to warranty repair, installation of new field equipment, and installation of retrofit projects.
  • Scheduling, manning the projects, coordinate with the project managers on their scheduling and scope requirements, submitting field service invoices for work performed, determining what is billable and what is warranty, collections of AR.
  • Maintains active contact with other departments, which is positive and supportive of that group’s planning and budget objectives; ensures communication with customers and/or other team members is conducted in a manner that builds trust and leads to efficient and effective problem resolution.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information concerning the Company’s operational practices, marketing, engineering, pricing and sales strategies, as well as customer and prospect lists. The list of items to be considered confidential also includes, but is not limited to, information related to the financial operations and performance of the company.
  • Leads turnkey install activities such as job walks, RFQ for contractors, negotiations, contractor timesheet validation, manage site punch list and contractor nonconformance, ensures contractors perform all task within the cost and schedule agreed upon, coordinate discoverable issues and approving appropriate change orders for contractors as well as getting change orders approved from customers as applicable.
  • Allocates time efficiently and effectively keeping track of critical information, schedules and deadlines. Manage workflow to prioritize task, proactive follow ups and meet promises made.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in accordance with guidelines established by the Company/OSHA; pursues safety initiatives in support of the Company’s vision of “zero accidents”; maintains a clean, safe and orderly environment.
  • Assist in start-ups, trouble shooting, field back charge resolution and manage warranty claims.
  • Through effective research and study of contract and project documents, manage warranty cost.
  • Ensures daily/weekly/monthly reporting, as well as any other general correspondence, is communicated accurately, concisely, and in a form appropriate to the target audience.
  • Understands and complies with all company policies and procedures as well as additional legal regulatory requirements.

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or construction engineering and/or equivalent work experience or training/education, however attained; professional degree preferred.
  • Three (3)+ years’ experience of managerial experience, P&L experience a plus
  • Experience with SCR systems, PLC programming, Controls Engineering or Logic design a plus.
  • Valid in-state driver’s license. Driving record must meet acceptable company standards and be maintained as such in order to operate a vehicle while on company business.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation pertaining to specifications of components and materials and computer aided design (CAD) drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to apply considerable knowledge of process instrumentation including pressure, flow and temperature transmitters, valve actuators and the testing and calibration of these components.
  • Considerable knowledge of continuous emissions monitoring equipment for measurement of process source emissions.
  • Considerable knowledge of safe handling, storage and operations of equipment that utilizes hazardous chemicals.
  • Considerable knowledge of rotating equipment, including dampers, actuators, controls, and seal air fans.
  • Working knowledge of business-related software packages (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, etc.); exposure to MRP/ERP systems preferred.

 

Licensing or Certifications: Driver license required.

 

 

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required, as necessary, to support the business; must have the ability to travel across borders.

Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

 

  • Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.
  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.

 

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.

 

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel.
