We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting to join our finance team. In this role, you will lead the company’s SEC reporting efforts and drive compliance with all applicable accounting standards. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely filings, managing technical accounting matters, and serving as a resource for accounting policy decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of both U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Be:

 

• Prepare quarterly (Form 10-Q) and annual (Form 10-K) SEC filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A).


• Coordinate with external auditors and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate filing of all required SEC reports.


• Collaborate with FP&A and other internal stakeholders to provide insights on financial results and ensure consistency across internal and external reporting.


• Research, interpret, and document technical accounting issues, including new accounting standards and pronouncements.


• Monitor and revise accounting policies and procedures as needed, and provide guidance throughout the organization on the application of such policies.


• Provide technical accounting guidance for complex transactions (e.g., acquisitions, equity transactions, revenue recognition, etc.).


• Ensure SOX compliance related to financial reporting and technical accounting.


• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accounting initiatives and projects.


• Other job duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.


• CPA license required.


• 5+ years of experience in public accounting or a combination of public accounting and corporate accounting, with a focus on SEC reporting and technical accounting.


• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance.


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Proficiency in financial software and reporting tools; experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics) and SEC reporting software (DFIN) is a plus.


• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Travel Requirements:

 

• The ability to travel domestically and internationally when necessary (up to 30%).

 

• Valid driver license required.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

 

Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

 

• Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.


• The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job.


• Compliance with company attendance standards.


Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
