The Sales Applications Engineer position is focused on Sales and requires skills in Application Engineering and proposal preparation. This position develops and grows the sale of air pollution control equipment and systems to the power industry and large industrial market customer base primarily within the United States, Mexico, and Canada. This position is responsible for application engineering, proposal preparation, providing estimating assistance, generating sales level customer deliverables and attending sales meetings. Experience with air pollution controls is preferred for this position.

 

 

Your Responsibilities Will Be: 

  • Utilizes engineering knowledge to ensure continuous, ongoing product growth and improvement of processes, methods, and quality.
  • Generates engineering documentation for both standard & custom applications.
  • Understands and adheres to engineering procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Promotes and maintains a flexible, cooperative, team oriented and customer focused attitude.
  • Provides timely, competent technical design advice on products, systems and services.
  • Provides direct technical consultation with customers, sales, and other internal departments.
  • Analyzes customer requirements to develop and prepare a detailed proposal which describes the type of equipment needed, preliminary design, price, delivery time, and financial terms.
  • Visit customer sites to analyze needs and/or equipment specifications, performance requirements, RFQs, and recommend products.
  • Works cross-functionally across extend CECO Peerless Emissions team members.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

 

 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Prior experience in the Engineering design, and/or commercial industrial manufacturing industry is helpful.
  • 2-5 years of experience in sales; prefer selling emissions control equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering documents.
  • The ability to read and manipulate AutoCAD drafting documents is a plus, but can be taught.
  • Technical sales knowledge: environmental or air pollution background a highly preferred.
  • Ability to work with technical and product management personnel.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and Outlook

 

 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Some travel may be required; must have the ability to travel across borders.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time
