The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

 

 

Your Responsibilities Will Be: 

  • Unload delivery trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment.
  • Distribute packages and mail to company recipients.
  • Put away materials and components for storage and/or use.
  • Pull materials as required by manufacturing in a timely and safe manner.
  • Update picking lists
  • Operate and inspect material handling equipment in a safe manner.
  • Will review inbound shipments and verify items and quantities before taking delivery, signing Bill of Ladings and receiving documentation. Will make notation of discrepancies and alert Purchasing agent.
  • Stock and restocking of items in their proper locations in the warehouses as needed.
  • Load and unload trucks as instructed.
  • Verify inventory counts and physical inventory as required.
  • Move materials in and out of work areas and the warehouse as required.
  • Alert management of out of stock or low stock levels as discovered.
  • Identify and label boxes, packages, and products as instructed by the picking information, your manager or lead person.
  • Always maintain your work area in a clean and organized fashion.
  • Report any inefficient or unsafe conditions to management upon discovery of the conditions.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately as required.
  • Perform all work using safety equipment as instructed while obeying all safety rules and procedures
  • Provide support/backup for shipping/Receiving position as required
  • Perform weekly cycle counts

 

 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year in same or similar role
  • Able to lift up to 30lbs
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Email)
  • Inventory control and/or management experience a plus
  • Forklift Certification (Can be attained through Peerless)
  • Knowledge of and experience in ERP systems a plus (Epicor) (D365)

  • ADA Requirements:
  • Standing and walking for long periods, often throughout an entire shift
  • Frequent Bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
  • Regularly lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects typically up to 50 pounds, and occasionally heavier items
  • Reaching with hands and arms and using common hand tools or warehouse equipment
  • The job is usually performed in a warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures
  • Must be alert to warehouse hazards, such as forklift traffic and stacked products
  • Compliance with company attendance standard. Work hours may vary during peak production cycles.
