The Mechanical Assembler III is responsible for the assembly, reworks and repairs on manufactured equipment and products in accordance with established procedures. This position reads work orders; follows and interprets production drawings and sample assemblies or receives verbal instructions regarding duties performed. The Mechanical Assembler II performs assembly work using hand-held tools and soldering equipment, and ensures the products meet quality standards, performing quality work checks. In addition, this role is responsible for supporting parts fulfillment in support of installed systems.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Be:


• Assembles and tests equipment (primarily industrial process pumps) per engineered drawings or as instructed by others.


• Uses hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as tapes, gauges, calipers, and micrometers, power tools, pallet jacks, fixed gauges, and jigs.


• Plans work and follows procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.


• Repairs, takes apart, rebuilds equipment (pumps) to obtain an acceptable result.


• Inspects completed components for accuracy and functionality.


• Performs tests on components as necessary.


• Executes individual quality inspection throughout the assembly process, marking and setting aside parts which have obvious defects and informing supervisor and/or set-up personnel of any issues.


• Reads and follows production orders and diagrams for the product being produced, tests electric wire and terminal connections for mechanical strength and electrical continuity in assembly.


• Process parts orders by picking from inventory and preparing for shipment. Works with procurement as required to ensure product availability for fulfillment.


• Completes proper paperwork for checklist.


• Determines non-conforming material coming from other departments.


• Operates and adjusts tools, gauges, use hand Implement continuous improvement practice to reduce errors.


• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:


• A high school degree or GED, plus 3 plus years of experience working in the assembly, industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing fields.


• Experience working with hand/power tools, torque wrenches, band saws, sanders/grinders required.


• Experience with QC or Testing.


• Must be mechanically inclined and have the drive to learn and grow in the technical space.

 

Preferred Qualifications:


• Electrical experience is a plus but not required.


• Experience working with rotating equipment is a plus but not required.

Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

 

• Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.


• The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job.


• Compliance with company attendance standards.

 

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel.
