The Tool Crib Lead is responsible for managing equipment and inventory in a manufacturing environment. This role involves overseeing records, inventory, and ensuring that shipments are monitored and tracked for on time delivery. The lead also serves as a frontline coordinator who guides, and supports the department made up of a small team. 

 

 

Your Responsibilities Will Be: 

 

  • Monitors the production schedule and understands product specifications.
  • Participating in production and productivity meetings.
  • Ensure tool crib targets, quality standards and efficiency metrics are met.
  • Prioritize shipments in line with schedule and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify and escalate bottlenecks, downtime, or any other issue.
  • Recognize opportunities for time reduction, process simplification, and efficiency gains.
  • Enforce safety policies and PPE usage.
  • Assigning tasks to department members serves as a liaison between departments and managers.
  • Relays changes, delays, etc. to the team.
  • Maintains all logs associated with the tool crib.
  • Ensuring department is powered down and secured at shift’s end.
  • Carrying out directives on behalf of the Company.
  • Requiring compliance with plant rules, and company policies.
  • Performing other duties and tasks as assigned.

 

 

 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated leadership and people-management skills. Ability to coach and develop others.
  • Strong technical aptitude with knowledge of systems, excel, etc.
  • Solid understanding of safety policies and procedures and best practices.
  • Problem solving mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

 

 

 

ADA Requirements:

Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, moving equipment and other standard industrial conditions, and is required to wear to personal protective equipment (PPE).

 

Physical Demands

Positions in this function typically require standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.  Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

 

Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves close accuracy and visual awareness.

Compliance with company attendance standards.  

 

Incumbents may be subjected to moving tow motors, electrical currents, glue, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions,
