The Application Engineer will be working as a bridge between Transcend’s Engineers, the Sales team, and its customers by designing, sizing, generating proposals and being responsible for Element Cost Sheets & Designs.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Be:


• Engineering design of filter and vessel components.


• Provide technical support and solutions to the sales team and customers.


• Site visits to process plants and fabricators.


• Maintain extensive knowledge of complex aspects of products and systems.


• Analyze customer requirements and illustrate how company solutions can provide value and support their organization.


• Work in partnership with supply chain and the sales team to confirm costs, strategize sales approaches, and ensure attainment of sales quotas.


• Prepare proposals and technical responses to RFI and RFPs.


• Understand specific client systems and equipment requirements to identify additional sales opportunities to provide to the sales team.


• Recommend modifications to standard products to meet individual customer requirements, within practical company and economic limitations.


• Provide written/verbal quotations and perform necessary follow-up.


• May perform costing analysis on product line items versus published pricing to arrive at gross margin calculation for review and approval by Applications and Sales Managers.


• May coordinate customer delivery requirements with the Production Department and configure technical solutions for customers to ensure successful customer integration.


• Anticipate and answer client/sales questions on product functionality/usage, application inquiries, and appropriate product recommendation in a timely manner.


• Should take the responsibilities of Developing Cost Sheets, Element Designs & developing familiarity with competitor products for retrofit purposes/opportunities.


• Occasionally help Project Manager, with reviewing internal & Vessel drawings; Coordinating with internal and external parties for the execution of projects; Project Scheduling & Tracking; Any other project execution duties as required.


• Other projects & duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology or related field preferred.


• 4-6 years of experience in the same or in same or similar role.


• Logical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.


• Excellent communication and presentation skills.


• Works well in a cross-functional, open-communication environment.


• Ability to travel domestically, 10-25%.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Experience in product design preferred.


Travel Requirements:


• May travel to customer sites or other company locations to support installations, training, or problem resolution.


• Valid Driver’s License Required.


ADA Requirements:


Office Position Work Environment: This role splits time between a desk for design, documentation, and meetings and the manufacturing floor for testing, troubleshooting, and implementation.

 

• Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role; however, some work with physical computer and/or networking systems may be required to fulfill operational requirements.

 

• Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.

 

• The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job. Visits to our manufacturing facility and suppliers’ facilities is required to monitor active projects and address design issues.

 

• Compliance with company attendance standards.
