The Fan Engineering Intern works alongside the Fan Engineer to revitalize the Verantis catalog of engineering drawings and standards books that are used internally to construct our products. The project involves cataloging the existing drawings by component type and product family and recreating them in as much detail as possible with the goal of producing new and comprehensive standards books and digitizing all the product specifications.

  • Your Responsibilities Will Be
    Learn and understand the fan manufacturing process and how each department operates
  • Become familiar with all types and families of Verantis fans and the engineering principles behind their designs
  • Assist the Fan Engineer in cataloging existing drawings and standards, determining what specs are accurate to our products as built and creating a plan to create new standards books for each production department
  • Update 3D parts library as required for accuracy or to assist in drawing creation update and recreate detailed engineering drawings of fan components and assemblies as required using SolidWorks
  • Compile the updated drawings into new standards books organized by component type and product family
  • Publish the new standards physically as well as digitally in the company share drives for use by all employees

Required Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or in mechanical trade or
  • Experience: 1-2 years experience with 3D modelling, CAD or drafting software (SolidWorks preferred) in professional or educational setting
  • Other skills: - Highly motivated individual
  • Eager to learn the operations of Verantis Manufacturing
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and production plans
  • Comfortable learning engineering concepts
  • Good problem solving and decision-making ability
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • proficient with Microsoft office suite
  • Very strong organizational skills:
  • Able to manage a large project consisting of many individually complex tasks, ensuring organization and follow-through
  • Able to keep track of large numbers of files both physically and digitally with strong attention to detail
  • Able to set own deadlines and work efficiently with minimal supervision

 

KNOWLEDGE:

Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. ·

Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. ·

Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. ·

Mechanical — Knowledge of Statics, beam formulas, stresses, pressure vessel. ·

Physics — Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics, and mechanical, electrical, atomic and sub- atomic structures and processes.
